Hy-Vee and the Rotary Clubs of Springfield are proud to announce the Sixteenth Annual Rock’n Ribs BBQ Festival, April 24th and 25th, 2015 at the Ozarks Empire Fairgrounds.  This year’s event at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds will debut 80 BBQ teams serving the public on both Friday and Saturday.  With $15,000 in cash on the line, BBQ teams throughout the Midwest will compete in our nationally acclaimed, KCBS sanctioned BBQ competition on Saturday.  The event will host a variety of both adult and family entertainment forums including the Kids Zone, Pie Eating contest, Motorcycle show and the Texas Hold’em Charity Poker tournament.  The Ozarks largest outdoor music venue will host a record breaking 23 country and rock musical acts with over 18 hours of live music.  Local favorites Members Only, Mixtapes, and Machine Gun Symphony will be sharing the stage with Candy Coburn, Makenna & Brock, the Mark Chapman Band, and winners of the 33rd Annual Country Showdown – the Brothers Robertson.

Cost for general admission to the festival is $10 per person at the festival gates. Tickets may be pre-purchased for $8 at over 40 Kum & Go locations citywide.

A rich history of community patronage to this event has allowed the Rotary Clubs of Springfield to donate $140,000 in 2014 and in total over 1.4 million dollars since its inception in 2000.  The funding provides professionally supported programs and services to disadvantaged and at-risk children in our community.  All proceeds benefit seven local children’s charities including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Great Circle, Boy Scouts of America, Good Samaritan Boys Ranch, Harmony House, Ronald McDonald Tooth Truck, and the YMCA.
