On April 27, 2019, Springfield’s Rotary and Rotaract Clubs held the 20th Rock’n Ribs event. This signature event has raised nearly $2 million in its 20-year history, with proceeds benefiting children’s charities.

Rock’n Ribs brings together the five Springfield Rotary Clubs and Rotaract to plan and operate this three-day event. This year, Rock’n Ribs raised sufficient funds to provide $10,000 to each of the designated seven local children’s charities including:

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks
  • Harmony House
  • Ronald McDonald House
  • Ozarks Regional YMCA
  • Great Circle
  • Boy Scouts of America
  • Good Samaritan Boy’s Ranch

A formal check presentation will be hosted at the Doubletree Hotel on August 29th at 5:30 p.m. All Rotarians are invited to attend and celebrate the success of Rock’n Ribs.

The Rock’n Ribs Board would like to thank the thousands of volunteers, both within and outside of Rotary, who make this event happen every year. This event only happens through the tireless efforts of the Board, the Management Team and the volunteers who spend thousands of hours each year to make Rock’n Ribs a success.

To ensure that this cooperative effort between the Rotary Clubs and Rotaract results in the premier event that we all expect, the Rock’n Ribs Board has decided to defer the 2020 Rock’n Ribs event and take on a revisioning effort. It is the intent of the Board that this visioning exercise will engage all local Rotarians to find a sustainable path forward with a signature event that energizes our clubs and highlights Rotary.

Once again, the Board of Rock’n Ribs wishes to thank everyone for the countless hours spent making Rock’n Ribs a great event and looks forward to that enthusiasm helping to shape our visioning process. We look forward to a great event in 2021!
